Clarification on UK to China Visa-Free Travel
Following UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s recent state visit to Beijing, there have been various reports suggesting that UK citizens may soon be able to travel to China without a visa for trips shorter than 30 days. However, no concrete announcements have come from the Chinese government, which has only mentioned that it is “actively considering” visa-free travel for UK citizens, while emphasizing the necessity of a reciprocal approach to cultural exchanges and travel facilitation.
Although the prospects seem optimistic, there are currently no specific details or timelines provided regarding any new visa policies for UK citizens traveling to China.
Beijing International Art Biennale
The 10th Beijing International Art Biennale is currently underway, featuring nearly 600 artworks from around 120 countries and regions. Various forms of art are on display, including painting, sculpture, digital media, and immersive installations, all aimed at encouraging visitors to reconsider how art interconnects people, culture, and ideas in our rapidly evolving world.
This year's theme is “Coexistence,” addressing topics such as interaction, conflict, cultural identity and integration, traditions, ecosystems, environmental awareness, and the impact of technology through the featured artwork. The event includes themed exhibitions, special exhibits, and country-specific display areas, offering everything from large installations to small experimental pieces.
Additionally, an international art conference is part of the exhibition, uniting artists, critics, curators, and museum professionals to foster new insights and reflections on the contemporary world through art.
The 10th Beijing International Art Biennale is being held at the Beijing Exhibition Center until February 28. Tickets are priced at RMB 68. For tickets and more information, scan the QR code in the poster above.
