Eli Falafel
This summer, the Lebanese restaurant Eli Falafel, which is based in Shanghai, inaugurated its first branch in Beijing at the Grand Summit near Liangmaqiao. The Beijing location is elegantly adorned in a stylish Middle Eastern aesthetic and boasts a spacious outdoor terrace where diners can savor the final days of mild weather. Amaro Bistro
Another establishment that opened in the summer is Amaro Bistro, an Italian restaurant located in Sanlitun. They focus on Neapolitan-style pizzas, with an impressive selection of 12 varieties available. Mac Mac
Following the launch of their first Beijing location last year, Lebanese restaurant Sumac opened a new eatery called Mac Mac at the CP Centre this year. Similar to Sumac, Mac Mac emphasizes authenticity, with a culinary team from Lebanon and spices sourced from Lebanese farms. The dining atmosphere at Mac Mac is more relaxed, featuring a menu centered on contemporary Lebanese street food. Their offerings include a wide array of wraps and sandwiches, along with meze dishes and main courses.

This year, Beijing welcomed its first Sri Lankan restaurant, Cinnara, which opened inside Chaowai SOHO. Here, you can enjoy authentic Sri Lankan dishes rich in distinctive flavors like cinnamon, coconut, and chili. Some must-try offerings include Crab Curries (in red, black, or yellow), Chicken Curry, Kottu, Coconut Roti, and Hoppers.

Mercante
Italian restaurant Mercante made its comeback to Beijing this year with not just one, but two outlets. One location is situated on Zhaofu Jie in Gulou, while the other is on Xizhuang Hutong near Fayuan Temple. Both restaurants serve a variety of their signature authentic Italian dishes such as fresh pasta, risotto, their renowned Pesto Lasagna, and various tiramisu options. Alongside their food offerings, they provide a selection of specially crafted coffees, wines, and additional beverages.
