Experience the Genuine Flavors of Yibin at Kerry's Kitchen

Kerry's Kitchen has recently introduced a partnership with the famous Beijing Yibin Guest House. This collaboration is available until October 31, allowing you to enjoy some of Yibin Guest House's signature dishes in the heart of the CBD at Kerry's Kitchen.

For those unfamiliar, Yibin Guest House, named after the city of Yibin in Sichuan, is a restaurant operated by the Beijing municipal government and is known for serving authentic Yibin cuisine in the capital. All of its chefs are from Yibin, as are most of the ingredients used. It has been recognized by the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for three consecutive years and has appeared on the Dazhong Dianping Must-Eat List for four years running.

As a result, securing a table at Yibin Guest House can be quite challenging; they do not take reservations, and due to its popularity, diners often face long waits for a table. Therefore, this partnership with Kerry's Kitchen offers the perfect chance to sample some of Yibin's specialty dishes without the lengthy wait!

We recently had the chance to visit Kerry's Kitchen and experience it firsthand, and we were far from disappointed! Through this collaboration, five featured dishes are available, each as delicious as the last. Here’s a closer look at them.

      **Lizhuang Boiled Pork**

Lizhuang Boiled Pork (李庄白肉 lǐzhuāng báiròu) is a signature dish from Lizhuang Ancient Town in Yibin and one of Yibin Guest House's most popular offerings. It features thin, delicate slices of pork expertly carved in front of you by a chef using an impressively large cleaver. Served with a spicy, garlicky dipping sauce, it complements the juicy, tender pork perfectly.

      **Yibin Burning Noodles**

Another highlight, Yibin Burning Noodles (宜宾燃面 yíbīn ránmiàn), has roots dating back to the Guangxu era of the Qing dynasty and is a regional staple. The glossy noodles, drenched in chili oil, are garnished with green scallions, mustard greens, white sesame seeds, and crushed peanuts. The heat from the chili and numbing mala spices is balanced by the umami flavors of the mustard greens and peanuts, resulting in an irresistibly tasty dish.

**Gongxian Shangluo Steamed Beef with Rice Flour**

Named after Shangluo Town in Gongxian County, Yibin, Gongxian Shangluo Steamed Beef with Rice Flour (珙县上罗粉蒸牛肉 gǒngxiàn shàngluó fěnzhēng niúròu) is sure to please spice aficionados. Rice flour mixed with Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, and sand ginger is combined with minced fermented broad bean paste, pickled ginger, and pickled chilies. Chunks of beef are coated in this flavorful mix, placed in bamboo steamers, and steamed over high heat until tender. The dish is topped with red chili powder, Sichuan peppercorn powder, scallions, and cilantro for an extra kick.

      **Cornmeal Bun**

Ideal as an after-dinner treat, these Cornmeal Buns (苞谷粑粑 bāogǔ bābā) are made using traditional techniques where glutinous rice flour, wheat flour, and granulated sugar are blended, wrapped in corn husks, and steamed. With a lovely golden yellow hue, they are soft, sticky, and slightly sweet.

      **Brown Sugar Ice Jelly**

To conclude your meal, there is the Brown Sugar Ice Jelly (红糖冰粉 hóngtáng bīngfěn). A cherished snack from street stalls and night markets in Yibin and the broader Sichuan-Chongqing area, Brown Sugar Ice Jelly is the ideal cooling dessert after a spicy meal. Brown sugar is simmered and combined with water and ice jelly powder to create a sweet, smooth jelly adorned with toppings such as raisins and tapioca balls.

The featured dishes from Yibin Guest House can be ordered as special sets or enjoyed as part of the Kerry's Kitchen Buffet. The special sets include three options:
