New Capital Airport Services Aiming at International Travelers

      The official WeChat account of Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA, also known as PEK) recently shared a list of 16 service initiatives categorized into five main areas aimed at enhancing Beijing's appeal as an inbound tourism destination. Here are some key highlights from the list.

      **Upcoming Launch of Cross-Airline International Regional Round-Trip Flights**

      Air China, Air Macau, and Capital International Airport are set to introduce their first cross-airline international and regional connecting flights, facilitating travel for passengers between Beijing and Macau.

      **Beijing Service – The Airport's Comprehensive Service Center**

      At the start of this year, the Beijing Service points were established at both Beijing Capital International Airport and Daxing International Airport. These centers offer comprehensive one-stop services for international travelers, including cash withdrawal via foreign bank cards, SIM card acquisition, cultural and tourism bookings, and transport assistance.

      **One-Stop Online English Service**

      The Capital Airport has released an official English version of its mini program and app, featuring more than 40 functions for international travelers. Services include flight information, airport WiFi connection, entry policy details, transit guidance, and tourism information for Beijing. Search for the 北京首都机场 mini program and switch the language to English.

      **New Integrated Luggage Service Launched**

      There are seven integrated baggage service counters at Capital International Airport providing comprehensive pickup services, luggage packing, storage, and door-to-door luggage transport. Foreign passengers eligible for the 240-hour transit visa-free policy can enjoy free storage for a single piece of luggage for up to three days (including the day of arrival) with their passport.

      **Enhanced Inbound Customs Clearance**

      The airport has introduced a “dual row inspection” model to shorten waiting times for passengers. There is a designated area for processing temporary entry permits with streamlined application and issuance services.

      **International and Regional Electronic Boarding Pass Services**

      Thirteen airlines, including Air China, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, and United Airlines, have rolled out electronic boarding pass services for 19 routes. The Hong Kong route has achieved comprehensive electronic boarding pass availability.

      **24-Hour Dining Options**

      Twenty-one 24-hour shops at the airport now offer online booking, in-store packaging, and self-pickup services through the Gourmet Food Boarding Pass mini program (美食登机牌).

      **Direct Bus Service to Universal Studios**

      A direct bus route from the airport to Universal Studios commenced operations on August 5.

      **Half-Day Beijing Tours**

      In partnership with Ctrip, the airport has enhanced its inbound travel offerings. They now provide a free half-day Beijing tour along with a service package designed for short-term inbound and visa-free transit tourists, including exclusive coupons for flights, hotels, and attractions.
