FLO has opened a Parisian café and crêperie in Tongzhou, Fiume has been renovated and rebranded as Mercante, COMMUNE has launched a new spring menu, and the bakery specialists Twist have opened in Xicheng, among others on our To Try List this week.
FLO Group Introduces Parisian Themed Café and Crêperie Ohlala
A few weeks prior, the FLO restaurant group unveiled Ohlala, a Parisian-themed café and crêperie situated in the new Wanli area near Universal Studios in Tongzhou. They offer a selection of classic French dishes, including their signature Breton galettes, savory pancakes, featuring options like Smoked Salmon (RMB 78) and Black Truffle Parma Ham (RMB 86), alongside sweet crêpes such as Strawberry (RMB 60) and Caramel Banana Chocolate (RMB 52). Fiume Transforms into Mercante
The Italian restaurant Fiume in Liangmaqiao has recently completed renovations and has officially become Mercante. Regular patrons need not be concerned, as the ownership remains unchanged, with the rebranding aligning it with the Mercante name. You may recall that last year Mercante made its return to Beijing with two restaurant openings.
At the new Mercante location, you can enjoy a variety of traditional Italian dishes, including the much-loved Lasagna (RMB 95). A noteworthy addition is a new brick pizza oven, offering delectable Neapolitan-style pizzas. Options range from the classic Margherita (RMB 69) to indulgent choices like Truffle and Sausage (RMB 95).

COMMUNE Unveils Spring Menu
A few weeks ago, COMMUNE launched its spring menu, featuring a variety of new, fresh, and vibrant dishes. As fans of burgers and pizzas here at the Beijinger, we are particularly thrilled about the new Wagyu Beef Burger with Cheese Butter Sauce, which includes two M-grade wagyu patties topped with molten cheese and crispy onions, along with the Beijing Chicken Pizza with Chinese Toon Basil Pesto, offering a wonderful fusion of flavors.
Additional new dishes include Pan-Fried Salmon with Lily Bulb Salad, Purple Kale and Quinoa Salad, and Bruschetta, among others. They have also introduced new beverages like a White Chocolate Martini, a Montenegro Negroni, and several BrewDog craft beers on tap. You can find more details about the spring menu here.

New Eatery Twist Opens in Xicheng
Located in Xicheng, Twist is a newly opened eatery that specializes in a variety of freshly baked items. During our visit, we particularly enjoyed the Emmental with Sauerkraut Sourdough, Chocolate Babka, and Erbajiang Babka. In addition to baked goods, they offer a selection of other dishes including pasta, small tapas-style plates, as well as specialty coffees and other drinks.

Las Musas Introduces New Spring Drinks
Recently, Las Musas has rolled out its spring drink menu, featuring four new seasonal margaritas. The first is the Sunset Flow Fizz, a mix of orange tequila, Aperol, fresh orange and carrot juice, lime, simple syrup, and egg white. Next is the Green Margarita, which blends fresh cucumber, kale, and orange juice with lime and simple syrup.
Additionally, there's the Blackberry & Coconut Margarita, combining tequila, Cointreau, blackberry puree, coconut cream, lime, and simple syrup. Finally, the Changsha Margarita offers a unique fusion of tequila, peach, ginger, lime, and perilla ginger syrup. They've also added
New restaurants, springtime flavors, and various food and beverage events.
