We're launching the 2026 Beijing Juicy Burger Cup, and it's made us reflect on how the burger landscape has evolved since last year's event. Each new year brings new options, but it also means some sad goodbyes (we're still in mourning for the legendary yet short-lived Cannon's in Xingfucun).
To kick things off, we're compiling a Master List of all the competitors while reviewing which establishments have opened and closed in the past year.
**Closures**
Let's start with the not-so-great news: two venues that participated in last year's Juicy Burger Fest have closed their doors:
- Golden Hill Ale House
- The T Restaurant
Additionally, these other burger joints have also shut down:
- Carbon 汽水
- CDWAAS Kitchen & Bistro 水石餐吧
- Leonin Burger 领英汉堡
**Openings**
Now for the positive side! Several new burger spots or restaurants serving burgers have opened in the past year. Here are some noteworthy ones that have caught our attention:
**Chili's 奇利斯美式小餐馆**
One of the most significant additions is the popular Tex-Mex chain, Chili's. Their hallmark burger, the Oldtimer with Cheese, features a handmade Wagyu and Angus beef patty topped with American cheese on a brioche bun, and it's won fans around the globe.
**PIGNUT BARBECUE**
Located near WAB, PIGNUT BARBECUE has quickly gained popularity among American BBQ enthusiasts in Beijing. They offer four different burgers: Beef Brisket Burger, The Double Burger, Pulled Pork Burger, and Fried Chicken Burger.

**Sandyq 桑迪克哈萨克民族餐厅**
We were very impressed with the opening of Beijing's first Kazakh restaurant, Sandyq, in November last year. They have recently joined the burger scene by adding the Beef Rib Cheeseburger, which includes hand-pulled beef ribs cooked with a secret recipe, stacked on a beef patty with melted cheese. While it's not a traditional Kazakh dish, we're excited to try more burgers!

**Inner Café**
Although Inner Café has been in Beijing for a while, they only started serving burgers last year. Their menu includes everything from a Classic Angus Cheese Burger to more unique offerings like a Crab Roe Mayonnaise Burger.
