Beijing's food and beverage market is becoming more vibrant as significant American restaurant chains continue to establish a presence in the city. Popeyes will officially open its Wangfujing outlet this Friday (April 10), while Chili's is set to launch its second location in Solana next month. American comfort food enthusiasts have much to anticipate.
Popeyes Grand Opening This Friday
Popeyes Wangfujing began a soft opening yesterday, providing a sneak peek before the official launch. The restaurant will close tomorrow for final preparations and will have its grand opening on Friday (April 10) starting at 10 am. This location in The Malls at Oriental Plaza marks Popeyes' first return to the capital after more than 20 years. To commemorate the opening, Popeyes is offering several exclusive promotions. On April 10, the first customer in line will receive a "gold gift" valued at RMB 2,500. Additionally, the first 100 customers will get a free Classic Chicken Sandwich, and one person among those ranked second to 100 will randomly win another "gold gift" worth RMB 2,500.
Between April 10 and 14, customers can enjoy a 23 percent discount on all menu items. Purchases made during this time will grant customers five chances at a claw machine and one turn at a gachapon machine, with exciting prizes available in both.
The Wangfujing store appears to be just the beginning of Popeyes' expansion in the capital, with listings on Dianping indicating a possible branch in Zhongguancun and Fanyuanli IDMALL, although these have not yet been confirmed by Popeyes.

Chili's Solana Branch Set to Open in Early May
Chili's has announced that its Solana branch will be opening in early May. This will be their second outlet in the capital, and the Solana location will feature two floors with the signature Tex-Mex design characterized by warm colors and neon highlights. While the exact opening date is still unspecified, a special promotion has been initiated to build excitement.
Until April 20, Chili's is conducting a check-in campaign where guests can take a photo or video in front of the Solana construction site, post it on Xiaohongshu with the hashtag #ChilisBeijingSolana, and present the post at their Zhongguancun store to receive a FREE Presidente Margarita or Molten Chocolate Lava Cake.
Chili's has promised additional surprises during the grand opening week across both locations. On the grand opening day, the Solana branch will feature a live traditional Mexican band performing at the tables. More details, including the official opening date, will be shared soon.
