Although much outdated information from the 2015 celebrations has been circulating, we have compiled the latest details on this year's events below.

Traffic Management Measures
On the evening of August 29, the Beijing Public Safety Bureau released the “Notice on Temporary Traffic Management Measures During the 80th Anniversary Celebration of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.” This notice contains updated details concerning traffic control and transport disruptions near Tian’anmen Square in relation to the commemorative ceremony and parade on September 3.
Here are the specifics:
From August 30, 6 PM, to September 3, 2 PM, motor vehicles, non-motorized vehicles, and pedestrians not related to the commemorative events are banned from entering or traversing the following designated area:
- North of Jinshui Qiao in front of Tiananmen Square and south of Wumen Gate of the Forbidden City, including Zhongshan Park and the Labor People's Cultural Palace
- The Forbidden City and Shenwumen Outer Square
- From the Xihuamen Lu intersection (excluding) through Xihuamen Dajie, Xitongzihe Lu, Dongtongzihe Lu, Donghuamen Dajie to the Donghuamen Lu intersection (excluding)
On September 2, from 7 AM to 9 AM and from noon to 2 PM; on September 3, from 7:30 PM to 9 PM; and September 4, from 1 AM to 2 AM, motor vehicles, non-motorized vehicles, and pedestrians not involved in the commemorative events are not allowed to enter or pass through the following areas:
- Wennan Lu and Changliu Lu in the Changping Nankou area (Changping District)
From September 2, 11 AM, to September 3, 10 PM, the following areas will also see the same restrictions:
- Guangchang Xice Lu
- Renda Huitang Xilu
- Guangchang Dongce Lu
- Xinda Lu
From September 2, 9:30 PM, to September 3, 6 PM, access restrictions will apply to the designated bounded area, including specific streets and locations listed in detail in the original notice. Residents in the area may enter on foot with proper identification such as ID cards.
Foreigners are advised to have accessible copies of their passport, residence permit, and housing registration documents prepared in case they need to present them.
From September 2, 9:30 PM, to September 3, 6 PM, similar access restrictions will apply to several other noted areas in the city.
Many additional time-specific access restrictions for various streets and locations can be summarized as follows:
- From midnight to 2 AM on September 3, specific routes along the East Second Ring Road are restricted.
- On September 3, several more time windows, starting from 9:30 AM to 1 PM and beyond, will see restrictions on various designated areas.
During this special period, vehicles heading to Beijing railway station can utilize a one-way circular route through designated areas.
The traffic management bureau may also implement temporary traffic control measures on additional roads according to national and international event needs.
Subway Adjustments
Certain subway lines will also face interruptions or changes on September 2 and 3 due to the celebrations.
Beijing Subway Changes – September 2
Line 1/Batong Line will finish operations early, with the last train departing Gucheng at 7:17 PM and the last bus leaving from Universal Beijing Resort at 7:29 PM.
Subsequently, some transfer stations on Line 1/Batong will close until operations end for the day:
- Line 2: Fuxingmen, Jianguomen
- Line 4: Xidan
- Line 5: Dongdan
- Line 8: Wangfujing
- Line 9: Military Museum
- Line 10: Guomao, Gongzhufen
- Line 14: Dawanglu
Additional closures will occur prior to 9 PM at other stations.
