With Taco Fest just around the corner – set for May 3-4 at the National Tennis Center – it’s the perfect time to preview the festive activities we have planned. This year's festival promises an array of lively entertainment, including energetic DJ performances, vibrant Latin music bands, relaxing yoga sessions, and tennis-themed games, making it enjoyable for everyone.
Whether you want to dance, relax, or test your skills, let’s explore the exciting highlights of this year's event!
**DJ Fay**
Each day of Taco Fest will kick off with DJ Fay, known for her electrifying energy and dynamic sets. With extensive experience at various events, she skillfully blends different musical genres to keep the audience engaged – let the music play!
**Taozi Tree Yoga x Taco Fest**
The team at Taozi Tree Yoga features passionate and skilled instructors who will lead a fun Mandala Yoga session daily from 1pm to 2pm. Taozi aims to promote holistic health by creating opportunities for personal transformation and connection with oneself and the community. Take a break from the festival rush to find some tranquility and rejuvenate your body.
**Mojito**
Mojito is a well-known Latin band, making waves in China and beyond. The musicians are celebrated for their versatility, performing a broad spectrum of music styles ranging from Latin Jazz and fusion to Caribbean rhythms like reggaetón and kizomba, as well as beloved Latino favorites such as bachata, salsa, merengue, and cha cha cha. Their high energy and fantastic vibes will infuse the festival with authentic Latin and Caribbean flair.
**TroVanda**
TroVanda brings a genuine mix of Caribbean and Latin American music styles. The group melds traditional and contemporary sounds, featuring beautiful Spanish lyrics and captivating rhythms that will transport you to Havana. Established in Beijing in 2018, TroVanda consists of talented musicians from diverse backgrounds, including Venezuela and Cuba. This fusion of cultures and influences makes their music unique and appealing to audiences.
Led by Eduardo Barroetabena, the ensemble’s musical director and master percussionist, they are joined by Redis Cobas, a skilled keys player and vocalist, and Baltazar "Fido", an accomplished bassist and vocalist. Their repertoire includes a variety of genres: bolero, canción, salsa guaracha, changüí, bachata, and cumbia. With TroVanda, you’ll experience not just a performance but a rich cultural exchange through music that harmonizes the essence of Cuban roots with the eclectic influences of Beijing.
**EMA Salsa**
Taco Fest wouldn't be complete without some Latin dance! Ema, the beloved salsa instructor, will showcase her impressive moves and get everyone dancing. A cultural ambassador for Latin American traditions, Ema has spent 21 years promoting Latin American culture and music through dance, collaborating with numerous Latin American embassies in China and teaching thousands of students.
**LTN**
Closing the festival on Saturday is LTN (Latin Fire). Since its founding in the summer of 2024, LTN has committed to delivering memorable Latin experiences through music, dance, and vibrant cultural events. Based in Beijing, they are known for organizing high-energy parties and dynamic performances that highlight the richness and diversity of Latin rhythms.
Their events blend traditional and modern Latin sounds, featuring reggaetón, salsa, bachata, merengue, and Latin house, creating immersive experiences that keep the energy soaring all night. They have become renowned for their electrifying parties, such as the popular Barrio Fino series, which has attracted large crowds and created lasting memories.
**鱼头泡饼 (PANCAKELEE + MARIO YU)**
On Sunday, the festival will conclude with the dynamic DJ duo 鱼头泡饼, known for their unique presence in the electronic music scene, combining two decades of experience with cultural roots and contemporary beats. Since co-founding TRUST in 2017, they’ve been instrumental in promoting the genre in China by organizing significant festivals. With a passion for innovation, they continue to create a distinctive musical legacy that captivates global audiences.
**Tennis-Themed Games**
Given that this year’s Taco Fest is held at the National Tennis Center, our interactive stage games will feature a tennis theme. No need to be a tennis expert to join in – just be ready for a fun challenge that will test your smarts and courage! Two tennis challenges are set for 2pm and 4pm on May 3 and 4, with exciting prizes to win!
