This week in Beijing, there will be a film screening at The Factory, a special rooftop yoga session at Longfu Temple, and a Heartbeat blood drive.
**Watch – Chinatown Punk Wars Screening at The Factory**
On Tuesday, May 19, The Factory will host its regular movie night featuring the acclaimed documentary Chinatown Punk Wars. The film delves into how two Chinese restaurants unexpectedly became the heart of LA's late-1970s punk scene, with club owner Esther Wong, known as “Madame Wong” or the “Godmother of Punk,” playing a pivotal role. Those familiar with Temple Bar's "Rock Against Jams" nights might notice amusing parallels in the friendly rivalry portrayed between the venues in the film. Additionally, attendees can take advantage of The Factory's '鱼'esday Tuesday promotion, offering fish and chips with a beer for RMB 99, along with their regular food menu and happy hour from 4 pm to 8 pm. Music inspired by the documentary will play before and after the screening.
The Chinatown Punk Wars screening is scheduled for the second floor of The Factory on Tuesday, May 19, at 8 pm. Admission is free, though there's a minimum spend of RMB 50 per person, and pre-registration is suggested as seating is limited to about 40 people. You can register by scanning the QR code below and find more details about the event here.
