      Daxing Airport to Introduce First Direct Flight to Lisbon

      Starting June 22, there will be weekly direct flights from Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) to Lisbon International Airport (LIS) in Portugal. Beijing Capital Airlines, a budget subsidiary of Hainan Airlines operating out of Daxing Airport, will run these flights. Departures from Beijing are scheduled for Mondays at approximately 10:55 AM, with a flight duration of just under 13 and a half hours. This route marks Daxing Airport's inaugural direct connection to Lisbon.

      City Introduces Pilot Program for Bicycles on Subway

      Earlier this month, Beijing launched a pilot program for passengers who want to bring their bicycles onto the subway. This weekend service has been implemented at select subway stations along four lines known for their proximity to popular cycling routes, lower rail passenger numbers, and suitable facilities for accommodating cyclists.

      Service Time

      The bicycle service will operate on weekends as an all-day service. It is not available on weekdays or public holidays.

      Fare and Ticket Purchase

      To use the pilot service, tickets must be purchased via the Yitongxing 亿通行 app. A single ticket costs RMB 30 and allows one person with one bike. Passengers can also obtain tickets valid for 30 days from the purchase date. Tickets that are not used can be refunded, and those not utilized within the 30-day period will be automatically refunded via the original payment method.

      Bicycle Requirements

      Only two-wheeled, single-seat, human-powered bicycles with a wheel diameter not exceeding 28 inches (71cm) are permitted. Bikes must be in good condition, free from any sharp or protruding parts, and should be clean and devoid of dirt and oil.

      Safety and Subway Use

      Both passengers and bicycles must undergo security checks before entering the subway station.

      Passengers are required to use a special stretchy bike cover provided by the station, which must remain on the bike while inside the subway station payment area and on the subway train, and must be returned upon exiting.

      Those with bikes should use elevators or stairs in subway stations and refrain from using escalators.

      Riding bikes is not allowed in subway stations or cars, and bicycles must be kept monitored and out of the way during the journey.

      Passengers must enter and exit only at the designated stations listed in the pilot program, with no route changes or entries/exits at non-participating stations allowed.
