      City Implements Upgrades for Garbage Disposal

      To enhance cleanliness and the ease of garbage disposal, Beijing has launched a plan to create box-style disposal points in communities, complementing the 7,794 smart recycling machines already installed in 4,624 neighborhoods throughout the city. Additionally, there are plans to develop a mini program (京彩回收 “Jingcai Recycling”) that will assist the public with waste disposal by facilitating bookings for door-to-door collection of large items and enabling easy trading of recyclables.

      As the year unfolds, certain districts will initiate a pilot program aimed at improving the quality of waste classification disposal points. This will involve the construction of box-style distribution points, expansion of storage capacities, and addressing issues like mosquitoes, foul odors, and overflowing trash. Smart recycling machines will also be integrated with the box-style disposal stations.

      New Marine Theme Park Coming to Beijing – “Largest in Asia”

      Construction has commenced on the Beijing Haichang Ocean Park (北京海昌海洋公园), a new marine theme park set to open in Tongzhou District. This will be the first large-scale marine theme park established in Beijing since 2000, and once completed, it will be the largest marine theme park in China.

      The marine park is anticipated to feature an aquarium as well as areas for interactive exhibits, performances, and art installations. A marine-themed hotel will also be part of the complex. Visitors can look forward to two major theaters: the Whale and Dolphin Theater and the Happy Theater, along with a range of polar and large marine and land animals.

      Beijing Haichang Ocean Park aligns with the city's trend of innovative facilities aimed at promoting scientific education. It is expected to welcome visitors in 2027 and will be located close to the Beijing Universal Resort and the Gaoloujin station (高楼金站) on subway Line 7.

      Beijing Haichang Ocean Park is situated at the northwest corner of the intersection of Dujiaqu Beijie and Wenfang Sanxiang, Wenjing Street, Tongzhou District.
