Today, new sections of three subway lines in Beijing have commenced trial operations:

      - Line 6: Lucheng–Luyang

      - Line 17: Workers’ Stadium–Shilihe

      - Line 18: Malianwa–Tiantongyuan East

The new section of Line 6 is a brief one-stop extension towards the southeast. The recently opened section of Line 17 spans from north to south, linking the upper and lower parts of the line. Line 18 runs from east to west, connecting the Haidian and Changping districts.

Of particular interest is Line 18, which features China’s first carbon fiber heated seats, enhancing passenger comfort during winter months. There are information screens located by the platform doors that provide real-time updates on train arrivals and current capacities. Furthermore, all stations are equipped with amenities such as accessible restrooms and mother-and-child rooms.

Line 18 also offers various convenience services at its stations, including coffee shops and self-service stores along the line, alongside numerous self-service food and drink vending machines, as well as charging stations. A range of businesses are available, offering services like storage lockers, flower lockers, and robotic drink dispensers.

As of this morning, Beijing's urban rail transit system has reached a total of 909 kilometers and includes 30 subway lines.
