      Modernista's Songwriter Series returns, MKC's musical comedy continues its performance, and there's more happening this week.

      This Tuesday (Nov 25), Modernista's Songwriter Series will once again host Hazel Shang. Hazel, an indie folk singer-songwriter from Beijing, merges folk, bossa nova, and various influences in her music. Her soft melodies and understated vocals create a calming atmosphere that is subtly impactful.

      The Songwriter Series: Hazel Shang will occur at Modernista on Tuesday, Nov 25, starting at 9 pm. Admission is free. More details about the event can be found here.

      Watch – How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at JinShang Yuan

      Middle Kingdom Creative's performance of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying continues this weekend (Nov 28-29) and next (Dec 5-6) at JinShang Yuan. This production is based on the 1960s satirical musical comedy that tells the story of J. Pierrepont Finch, a waimai delivery guy who uses a self-help book to ascend from the mailroom to the boardroom, all without exerting much effort.

      How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying will be shown at JinShang Yuan's Garden Theater at 7:30 pm on Nov 28 and 29, as well as Dec 5 and 6. Tickets range from RMB 150-250 and can be purchased by scanning the QR code on the poster above.

      Drink – Jingle Bell Sweater: New Seasonal Beer from Jing-A

      Jing-A has introduced a new seasonal beer called Jingle Bell Sweater. Inspired by mulled wine, this flavored stout carries spiced hints of cinnamon, clove, and star anise. It incorporates Ekuanot hops with citrus notes, orange juice, and brown sugar, making it a cozy beverage ideal for winter. It can be enjoyed hot or cold and is now available at all Jing-A locations.
