This week features two special events organized by Furry Tales, along with a wine and vinyl night at Voyage by HUI, a Panawave DIY Workshop, and more.
Support – Furry Tales Trivia Night & Adoption Afternoon
The pet rescue charity Furry Tales has two events planned this week. The first is a Trivia Night on Tuesday (Nov 11) at 8pm, in collaboration with The Local. Furry Tales co-founder Ellie will co-host the quiz alongside The Local's owner, Kenn, with some animal-themed rounds included. Then, on Saturday (Nov 15), they will hold an adoption event at Timekeepers from 2pm to 5pm. Attendees will have the chance to meet lovable dogs available for adoption, enjoy drinks from Timekeepers—featuring new winter options—and buy exclusive Furry Tales merchandise to support the charity.
The Furry Tales Trivia Night will occur on Tue, Nov 11, at The Local starting at 8pm, and entry is free. The Furry Tales Adoption Afternoon is set for Sat, Nov 15, at Timekeepers from 2pm to 5pm, and is also free to attend.
The Local is located at 101, 1/F, Southeast Side of Bldg 80, Zone E, Courtyard No. 4, Gongrentiyuchang Beilu, Nansanlitun Lu, Chaoyang District.
Timekeepers is at 40 Zhonglouwan Hutong, Dongcheng District.

Learn – Panawave DIY Workshop at Wujin
Join artist and researcher Dennis de Bel for the Panawave DIY Workshop next Sunday (Nov 16) from 4pm to 7pm. During the session, participants will create their own electromagnetic wave listening device—a "pseudo-scientific" tool that converts invisible signals into audible sounds.
Using basic soldering techniques, you'll build your own Pana Wave Laboratory (PWL) receiver, capable of detecting interference from streetlights, e-bikes, and even phone chargers. Once everyone has a functioning device, the group will embark on a collective sound walk, tuning in to the city’s hidden noises and frequencies. No prior experience is required, but please remember to bring a good pair of wired headphones.
The Panawave DIY Workshop will take place at Wujin on Sun, Nov 16, from 4pm to 7pm. The cost of the workshop is RMB 80, and you can reserve your spot by scanning the QR code in the poster. More details about the workshop can be found here.
Wujin is situated at 66 Fangjia Hutong, Dongcheng District.
