Reminder for Holiday Dates in October 2025

The dates for China's public holidays in 2025 were revealed back in November of last year, so you may have forgotten the specifics about the upcoming holidays. The last two public holidays of the year include the Mid-Autumn Festival, which varies each year based on the lunar calendar, and the National Holiday, also known as Golden Week, occurring from October 1 to 7 every year.

In 2025, the Mid-Autumn Festival is on October 6, which falls within the National Holiday period, resulting in an extra day off on October 8. Therefore, the final holiday period of the year will extend from Wednesday, October 1, to Wednesday, October 8, creating an enjoyable eight-day Golden Week holiday.

As is customary, there will be make-up days for this holiday, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, and Saturday, October 11. For a clearer overview of the holiday and make-up days, you can refer to the graphics provided below.

If you are planning to travel during this time, remember that it's best to book as early as possible! For train travel, tickets are available for purchase 15 days in advance, but you can utilize apps like Trip to reserve seats. Just keep in mind that reservations do not guarantee ticket availability. If your reservation is unsuccessful, most apps will offer a full refund, but it’s important to review the terms and conditions of the specific app you use for booking.

      Enjoy your holiday!
