The May Holiday is nearly here, and festival excitement is taking over the capital, with a variety of events planned throughout Beijing in the upcoming days. From our own Taco Fest to a jazz festival, a Gulou fest, a beer festival, and several music festivals, there's plenty to enjoy for those staying in Beijing during the holiday.
**Taco Fest**
The top festival to attend during the May holiday is undoubtedly our Taco Fest! Scheduled for May 3-4 at the National Tennis Center next to the Olympic Forest Park, this will be a taco-filled celebration you won't want to miss! This year features over 25 vendors, including a special guest from Shanghai, La Coyota, along with great entertainment, market stalls, and more. **CMH China Chic Festival**
China Music House (CMH) is hosting the CMH China Chic Festival from May 3 to 4 at Tanko Moofland Park in Mentougou District. For over a decade, CMH has been reinterpreting traditional Chinese music for the younger audience, mixing elements from Chinese opera, folk music, and ethnic minority songs with various genres like Latin, rock, electronic, and trap. The festival lineup includes top Chinese musicians, featuring artists known for soundtracks from Black Myth: Wukong and Ne Zha 2. Attendees can enjoy a luxury camping area, interactive workshops, a fashion market, a bar area, and more. Tickets are RMB 69 per day and can be purchased by scanning the QR code below.

**5th Taihu Jazz Festival**
From April 30 to May 5, the Taihu Stage Art Center in Tongzhou District will become a "Jazz Wonderland" for the 5th Taihu Jazz Festival. With over 200 musicians from more than nine countries performing across seven stages, there will be countless performances to enjoy.
The lineup features legends such as guitarist Mike Stern, drummer Dennis Chambers, vocalist and trumpeter Benny Benack III, Canadian saxophonist Yannick Rieu, Latin America's Saracotia Trio, Argentina’s Adrian Iaies Trio, and Austrian accordionist Christian Bakanic. Additionally, there will be dance performances, film screenings, markets, and lots of food. **"Wo Zai Gulou" 2025 Life Festival**
The "Wo Zai Gulou" 2025 Life Festival will take place at the Drum and Bell Tower area in Gulou from May 1 to 5. This event will feature various themed activities to honor this ancient structure, including a hanfu parade, a Moving Museum-themed market, and performances such as Peking opera x rock and shadow puppetry x pop music fusions, exhibitions, and more. Adult tickets are priced at RMB 38 and can be bought by scanning the QR code below. Some activities may incur additional fees.

**Tomato Original Art Festival**
THE BOX will host its annual Tomato Original Art Festival from May 1-5. Spanning multiple floors, including the rooftop, this festival will feature a creative market showcasing independent artists and artisans with a variety of creative accessories, bags, jewelry, decorations, toys, and more. There will also be interactive activities, games, live music, and other surprises. Admission to the festival is free.
