Once a hub for factories and relentless industrial activity, the smokestacks and warehouses of the former Factory 798 now overlook vibrant galleries, installations, and exhibitions that comprise Beijing's 798 Arts District. However, 798 and its neighboring complex 751 have much more to offer these days. There's an abundance of coffee shops, restaurants, and even a few music venues where you can spend an entire day and night enjoying the area.
**Galleries & Art Centers**
Upon entering 798, you’ll discover a gallery at nearly every turn, showcasing everything from contemporary to modern to ancient art. Notable spots to check out include Tang Art, Saatchi, Meet You Museum, Red Gate Gallery, and UCCA (as shown in the picture). To plan your visit, you can find current and upcoming exhibitions through 798’s official WeChat (ID: tour798), and explore some exhibitions happening this month here.
**Coffee Museum**
More of a grand homage to coffee than a traditional museum, Wolfing Coffee’s Coffee Museum offers pour-overs from diverse regions around the world. With a myriad of choices available, visitors can even experience aromatic exhibits within the shop. Enjoy your selected pour-over in the spacious main room or in one of several themed areas, such as the American or Asian room.
