Hong’en Taoist Temple (宏恩观 Hóng‘ēn Guān)
Located to the east of the Bell and Drum Towers in Beijing, Hong'en Temple boasts a history spanning over 700 years. It has recently been converted into a cultural center that emphasizes the history of the Central Axis.
Reasons to Visit
If you find yourself at Hong’en after exploring the Central Axis, it serves as an excellent place to gain insight into the sites you've just seen along the way. In addition to the main exhibition hall, the temple complex features a soothing coffee shop called Half Coffee, a post office themed around the Central Axis, and a space with seating for reading.
Important Information
Entrance to the temple is free, and the complex is accessible around the clock, although the coffee shop and other establishments inside have varying hours of operation.
