China's Arrival Card to Become Digital Starting November 20

Today (Nov 3), the National Immigration Administration (NIA) announced the introduction of online arrival cards starting November 20. This initiative is part of ten new policies aimed at enhancing immigration and exit-entry management services to promote "high-level opening-up and high-quality development."

Beginning on November 20, foreign arrivals in China will be able to complete the arrival form online prior to their arrival, instead of using the traditional paper form. This can be done through the NIA's official website, the Government Service Platform, the “NIA 12367” app, and WeChat or Alipay mini programs.

If you cannot complete the online arrival card beforehand, you can still fill it out upon arrival by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, using a smart device at the entry point, or by filling out a paper arrival card.

Although the platform will not be activated until November 20, you can save the QR code below to access the online arrival card portal once it becomes available. You can also visit the site directly at https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/.

According to official images released by the NIA, there will be two types of “Entry Declaration” forms: one for the majority of foreign arrivals, and another specifically for “Border Area Residents,” which includes foreigners from seven countries: DPRK, Mongolia, Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam.

After selecting the appropriate form, you will be prompted to upload a photo of your ID document's page and then provide the same information required on the standard paper arrival card, including personal details, flight information, and your accommodation address.

For more details about the other ten new policies announced today by the NIA, you can check their official post here.
